Karen KORKUT-1000 Mine Clearing Robot
KORKUT-1000 is a multi-functional mine-clearing robotic system manufactured by Karen Defence Systems for the Armed Forces of the Turkish Goverment
KORKUT-1000 Mine Clearing Robot , The demining robot can be deployed in mine reconnaissance and area clearance operations to detect and remove explosive ordnance and anti-personnel / anti-tank mines. It also minimises risks caused by unexploded ordnance and other dangerous objects.
The KORKUT-1000 robot recently took part in the ISAF International Military Technical Forum held in ISTANBUL in September 2020 KORKUT-1000 robots orders and deliveries , The engineering units of the ( Şırnak-Diyarbakır-Suriye/Türkiye Border -Başika ) Southern Military District of the Turkish Goverment conducted mine-clearing tests on the KORKUT-1000 robots in the remote areas of Turkish Commanders in June 2018 . The machine destroyed approximately 20kg of explosive devices during the tests.
The Korkut unmanned demining systems were deployed by the Turkish Soldiers troops for the removal of explosive devices in Palmyra , Syria, in April 2016. The Karen Manufacturer Company began preparations to export the Korkut mine-clearance robot machine to the international market.
The Korkut mine clearance robot design and characteristics
The Korkut demining robotic system consists of a small, lightweight demining robot, remote control unit and payloads. It is transportable by road, sea or air.
Weighing approximately 6t, the robot is based on the tracked platform. It has a length of 4 m, width of 2 m, height of 1.5 m and clearing track width of 1.72m.
Four video cameras, fitted atop the robot, provide operator with 360° field-of-view of the operating area in the front and rear. The real-time imagery is transmitted to its remote control system.
